Tennis and pickleball program

Weekly Tennis & Pickleball Focus

At Kim Grant Tennis Academy, our training approach is purposeful and progressive. Each day of the week is dedicated to a specific stroke or skill, allowing campers to focus deeply and build confidence through repetition, coaching, and live play. Our goal is to develop well-rounded players who understand both the how and the why behind every shot.

  1. Monday – Forehands & Dinks:
Tennis players develop topspin, direction, and rally consistency. Pickleball players focus on soft touch and control at the kitchen line.

  2. Tuesday – Backhands & Drives:
Tennis campers improve footwork, timing, and shot reliability. Pickleball players work on powerful and controlled groundstrokes.

  3. Wednesday – Volleys & Net Play:
Tennis lessons emphasize reflexes and overheads. Pickleball focuses on paddle control and fast hands for net dominance.

  4. Thursday – Serves & Returns:
Tennis players practice spin, placement, and consistency. Pickleball campers refine serves, returns, and the important third shot drop.

  5. Friday – Match Play & Strategy:
Tennis campers apply skills through structured point play and tactics. Pickleball players engage in doubles matches with teamwork and strategic positioning.

THREE DAILY LESSONS

Campers train three times a day, with sessions spaced throughout the day to allow rest, hydration, and recovery — keeping both body and mind fresh. Each session is designed with a specific goal in mind:

  1. Morning Session (11:30 AM – 1:00 PM): Technique & Fundamentals

This session focuses on the technical aspect of the day’s stroke. Campers are guided through shadow swings, feeding drills, and targeted movement patterns to build clean form and efficient mechanics.

  2. Afternoon Session (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM): Live-Ball Drills & Rally Games

Players apply their technique in movement-based, rally-focused drills. These live-ball exercises emphasize shot selection, timing, court awareness, and consistency in a dynamic environment.

  3. Evening Session (5:00 PM – 6:30 PM): Match Play & Pressure Drills

Campers play points and participate in competitive games designed to simulate match conditions. Coaches introduce strategy, court positioning, and mental focus exercises. This session teaches players to think under pressure and make smart decisions in real time.
